Venture back in time on a journey to ancient Troy with our early morning tour. Our tour begins at 6:00-7:00 AM from Istanbul to Troy, Canakkale. After reserving your tour, you will receive a pickup time from your hotel in Istanbul (old city region). The drive to Troy takes approximately 5-6 hours, with an estimated arrival time of 12:00-1:00 PM.
Upon arrival in Eceabat, the starting point for touring Troy, you will have an hour break to rest and enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant. The first site on the tour is the sacrificial altars and the iconic wooden Trojan Horse, which was used in the famous Greek tale of the Trojan War, as told in Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. You will also view the Houses of Troy I, dating back to 3000 B.C. – 2500 B.C, before moving on to the remains of the various cities from Troy I through Troy IX, an archaeological site of nine ancient cities built on top of each other, dating back to 3500 B.C. These ruins were discovered by German archaeologist Heinrich and Sophia Schliemann, who uncovered a wealth of artifacts and architectural remains that offer a glimpse into the daily life of the ancient Trojans.
As the tour continues, you will pass through the Apollo Temple, the 3700-year-old fortified city walls, and the battlefield where Hector and Achilles fought for power. You will also visit the Odeon (Concert Hall), the Roman Theater, and the roundly-shaped Greco-Roman Senate building that hosted deputies of democracy. This tour begins early morning between 6:00-7:00 AM from Istanbul to Troy, Canakkale.
